From points north follow I-55
(south) to St. Louis, MO. You may drive either through the city (stay
to the right) on I-55 (south) (near the Arch watch for signs -
"44 - West -Tulsa") to I-44 (west-Tulsa) or
by-pass St. Louis by taking Exit #10 off of I-55 (south)
onto I-255 (south-Memphis). Follow I-255 to Exit # 5B
to I-44 (west-Tulsa). (This exit is approximately 5 miles from the
I-255 bridge crossing the Mississippi. We are currently suggesting the
I-255 routing due to road construction near the St. Louis Arch and the
I-55/I-44 interchange area. - See Inset #1)
Continue on I-44 (west-Tulsa) to Rolla, MO take Exit # 186
turn left onto Hwy 63 (south) (Bishop Ave.) (or to
access a wider variety of fast food, gas stations and hotels drive 2 miles
farther on I-44 (west) to Exit # 184 (Bus. I-44) (King's Hwy.)
(See Inset #2) (turn left at top of exit
ramp) Follow Bus I-44 (King's Hwy.) approximate 1 mile to Hwy. 63
(south) (Bishop Ave.) turn right; continue on Hwy 63 (south)
to Cabool, MO. Take Bus. Hwy 60 (west) through Cabool and access
Hwy. 60 (west) (a divided four lane.) Take Hwy 60 (west) to the
second Mansfield, MO exit - Hwy 5 (south-Ava, MO). (Ava, MO - This
stop at the
traffic
light on Hwy 5 is only 14 miles south of Mansfield, MO - an excellent place
for inexpensive gas, milk, fast food, or a stop at the local Wal-Mart Super Center-
only 54 miles from the resort, about 75 minutes, See
Inset #3.) Continue on Hwy 5 (south)
thru Gainesville, MO, go passed the Missouri/Arkansas state line-3 miles to
Baxter County Road #17 (Promise Land Road). At the large arrow sign
- "Promise Land Area" turn right (west) off of Hwy 5
onto Promise Land Road. Stay on the paved road for 10 miles
following the signs to the
Edgewater
Resort.
The last 25 miles from
Gainesville, MO to the resort are hilly and curvy. Please take your time -
